Ecig Store EulessAs vaping grows in popularity the discussions continue about whether it’s safer than smoking tobacco products. Recent analyses are proving yes, vaping is a safer alternative to tobacco cigarettes.

A new investigation was conducted by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), called “Nicotine without Smoke: Tobacco Harm Reduction.” The 200 page review verified the general health threats associated with e-cigarettes was much lower than that of the regular tobacco cigarette. The RCP determined, “Some harm from sustained exposure to low levels of toxins over many years may yet emerge, but the magnitude of these risk relative to those of sustained tobacco smoking is likely to be small.” The account estimates smoking vapor products poses a less than 5% hazard in contrast to tobacco cigarettes.

According the report the RCP established vaping has become a respected means for traditional tobacco smokers to quit smoking entirely or reduce their need for tobacco products. The study explains that vaping has become more extensively used for smoking cessation than marketed Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT).

The health threats associated to tobacco cigarettes is widely understood owing to extensive research and open media campaigns by the healthcare industry. Nicotine in tobacco cigarettes is addictive. Tobacco and various other chemicals in cigarettes are known cancer-causing agents. WebMD states these compounds are known to cause many disorders including COPD, vascular disease, lung cancer, upper airway and esophageal cancer, and many other illnesses.

In Contrast from tobacco cigarettes with their many toxic chemicals, there are three main ingredients in the e-liquids smoked in vaping products. These are vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol and flavorings. These ingredients have been safely used in ordinary household products and foods for years. Propylene Glycol can be found as an ingredient in food coloring, a flavor carrier in processed foods, and in cosmetics and medicines. Vegetable glycerin is derived from plant oils including coconut, palm, and soy. As an ingredient it can be found in lotions, shampoos, and toothpastes.

Another positive note for E-cigarettes and other vape products, they contain no tobacco. On the flip side, some e-liquids do contain nicotine. The amount in e-liquids varies, but the average is between 6mg and 24mg. There are some E-liquids that are nicotine-free. It’s the vape smoker who chooses the amount he desires. This a prefect technique for the traditional tobacco cigarette smoker to decrease his level of nicotine gradually and at his own stride.

Also good for those around vapers, there is no second-hand smoke issues like from tobacco cigarettes. The “smoke” from e-cigarettes is a vapor caused by the e-liquid being heated inside the vape device. The smoke from tobacco cigarettes obviously has tobacco, and other chemicals that are considered hazardous to anyone standing nearby. The vapor created by e-cigarettes and other vaping products is tobacco-free, and there are no known hazardous affects to bystanders.
