Electronic cigarettes are far too often confused for Advanced Personal Vaporizers (APVs) or more regularly referred to as “Vape Pens.” The producers and consumers of vaping products want you (and lawmakers and media) to know that there is a central distinction among the devices.
What an E-Cigarette is.
Let’s start with what an e-cigarette’s purpose is. E-cigarettes were developed as an alternate to smoking traditional cigarettes without the use of tobacco. This pledged a safer substitute to receiving nicotine into the body since traditional cigarettes rely on burning tobacco and inhaling the smoke to obtain nicotine. E-cigarettes heat a nicotine liquid to convert it to a vapor that the user then inhales.
They have limited flavored choices and can really only be found in gas stations or convenience stores.
What an E-Cigarette is not.
An e-cigarette is not a vape pen. Vape pens or vape “mods” have the ability to generate much more vapor with less nicotine and extra flavor. Many consumers begin with e-cigarettes and finally find their way to vape pens and mods for a more “satisfying vape.”
Vape devices include a heating element and a chamber in which elements like dry herbs, cannabis, oil, wax, or e-juice can be converted into vapor. Thus, vape pens and mods have increased control and variety. It’s no wonder that with the increase of mod sales, tobacco businesses manufacturing disposables want mods gone all together.
The choice is yours, but do understand that there are significant variances between electronic cigarettes and vape pens/mods. One is high in tobacco and known to be dangerous for your health, while the other lets you have better control over what goes into your body and while providing more flavor.
